In Rich Media, Poor Democracy, Robert McChesney lays the blame for this state of affairs squarely at the doors of the corporate boardrooms of big media, which far from delivering on their promises of more choice and more diversity, have organized a system characterized by a lack of competition, homogenization of opinion and formulaic programming. Through numerous examples, McChesney, and media scholar, Mark Crispin Miller, demonstrate how journalism has been compromised by the corporate bosses of conglomerates such as Disney, Sony, Viacom, News Corp, and AOL Time Warner to produce a system of news that is high on sensationalism and low on information. They suggest that unless citizen activism can reclaim the commons, this new corporate system will be characterized by a rich media and an ever impoverished, poor democracy.

Don't argue. Rawr. The video is from Eric's point of view, and from the very beginning I'd like to point out how hard it was to make it so. There are very few clips of Eric as an angsty boy, and when we wanted him alone, that damn Christan barged into the frame. We had to use a few clips twice, sorry about that. The story's basically that Eric and Ariel were in love, but they had a serious fight and things were said, that shouldn't have been said. Ariel is killed by Ursula (which isn't clear, since we didn't want to use clips of her), and Eric's regretting the fight between them and not being able to tell Ariel the beautiful things that he should have. When Ariel dies, Eric starts seeing her in his memories, he's losing his mind. He sees ghosts of Ariel everywhere. Eric's feeling guilty because of her death, if he hadn't yelled at her, she wouldn't have gone away, she wouldn't have died. Her last words to him were "You'll never see me again..." When I first heard this song, I was shocked, the lyrics are extremely sad and the pain can be heard from his voice. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed making it.
