Q: Why does this piece of music remind me of horror movies?
A: Because it was used in the 1962 version of The Phantom of the Opera. Before that, it did not have that connotation. When Walt Disney and Leopold Stokowski used it in the 1940 film Fantasia, they considered it to be a purely abstract piece --- "absolute music" --- which brought to mind expressionistic forms and lines.

Disney Crossover - I'll Make a Man Out of You
Description: Hey everyone! So, essentially I was just making this video for a contest (it's the Disney Song/Movie of the Month group and the theme this month was Disney crossovers), but I was having trouble thinking of a song to do that would be fun and not seem weird out of context of the movie. A lot of them also seemed slightly too boring to really catch interest. But then I was listening to my iPod on random (yes, I have an enormous collection of Disney on my iPod) and this song came on. It was like one of those cartoons where the light bulb clicks on over the persons head! I could just totally picture the video in my mind and I got super excited and started working on it right away. Once I got going on it I really got into it and finished it the next day (today).
So, now that I've successfully bored you all with that lengthy story, I invite you to enjoy my latest video! One thing I'd like you all to keep in mind when you watch is that the idea here is that Shang is still singing this song, it's almost like these guys are his army in training. Shang is not at all removed from this song, that's why he shows up on the parts that say "I" and "my," because it's still his point of view. I even put in some of the parts with him actually singing this song from the movie, to kind of make the point that it's still his song (I'd like to apologize if the timing of Shang's mouthing is off from the lyrics at times, that would just be YouTube's stupid uploading throwing the timing off, it's perfect on my computer). So, without further ado I present to you my latest video! I have never made a video to another Disney song before, so I hope it works for you all, I know I enjoyed making it.
